PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE

HOUSE FLOYD - WATERFALL ESTATE

The brief involved the design of a two-storey dwelling to cater to the needs of a family of four.  Specific programmatic requirements were outlined with the client and was to adequately site itself on an awkward panhandle within Waterfall Estate. My duties involved exploring the conceptual approach where sketchplans were drafted and discussed. I was then solely involved in creating working drawings, a 3D model, artistic renders and a video walkthrough.

HOUSE TREVOR - BENMORE GARDENS

Requested to present itself as "modern edifice of its time", House Benmore was conceptualised around the client's aesthetic requirements and need for a central entertainment space. My duties involved the conceptualisation of these requirements into sketchplans, 3D renders and Powerpoint proposals for subsequent deliberation with the client. It also involved assisting with the working drawings and schedules for council submission.

HOUSE MASHA - SEKHUKHUNE

Resulting from the client's requirements for open-plan living, transparency and easy access to the external environment, House Masha provides a two-storey dwelling space comfortably catering to the living requirements of a family of four. My duties included assisting and correcting working drawings for council submission.

PROPOSAL FOR HOUSE THABETHE - NIGERIA

INTERIOR DESIGN PROPOSAL - HOUSE TREVOR

Requested as an additional component to the design of House Trevor, I had compiled a sample catalogue for the interior design of the proposed architectural scheme. This included images of a proposed "look and feel", specifications for furniture and products, as well as a sample moodboard for greater understanding of envisioned interior spaces.

SOCIAL HOUSING PROPOSAL - DIEPKLOOF

Proposed as a modular and affordable solution to the housing needs and requirements of the mid-level income community of Diepkloof, my duties involved creating sketchplans and 3D renders of a proposed apartment complex.

TIH INNOVATION HUB PROPOSALS - PRETORIA

WIMAX ICT HUB RENOVATION & RETROFIT - ALEXANDRA

A vacant building in the heart of Alexandria has been envisioned for reappropriation in order to house the local radio station, the Community Development Forum, offices for the GEP, as well as to act as a catalyst for the urban renewal of the precinct it finds itself in. My task was to assist in carrying out site inspections, measuring up and drawing up of existing plans, determining spatial opportunities and limitations, designing new additions to the internal and external face of the building, creating 3D renders and walkthroughs for presentations with the Gauteng Department of Infrastructure & Development. An opening ceremony was also envisioned and was thus designed and rendered as a walthrough video for this presentation

NECSA TRAINING CENTRE PROPOSAL - MIDRAND

Two proposals for the Necsa Training Centre had been developed for a newly envisioned urban plan at the TIH Innovation Hub in Pretoria. The mandate was to create two diffeent buildings that differ in aesthetic but represent an architectural language that speaks of the technological aspects that the training centre would encompass. My duties involved the conceptualisation, 3D modelling and rendering of these buildings.

RESTAURANT CHAIN STORE PROPOSAL - SABIE

In close proximity to the Sabie River, travellers often stop by for a brief visit or as throughfare before reaching their final destinations. The client thus found it economically feasible to develop a chain restaurant complex by retrofitting an abandoned car garage which had been left vacant for a few years. My duties were to visit the site and do thorough investigations with regard to the opportunities and constraints the building had posed for future retrofit or development, to als measure up the site and building dimensions since there were no existing plans available, to create sketchplans of the proposed restauarants, as well as to three dimensionally model it in order for artistic renders to be produced.

PALM SPRINGS GATE PROPOSAL - NIGERIA

A proposed luxury housing gated community had been proposed in Nigeria where our mandate was to develop a few concepts for the entrance facility into the complex. My task was to develop and model these designs and to create 3D renders and walkthoughs of it.

HOUSE MAKATINI - LINDEN

A "modern looking home" had been envisioned to cater to the individual needs and requirements of a family of 5. My duty -while working from abroad- was to translate the floor plans sent to me into two proposals which differ in aesthetic and minimal spatiality. This involved 3D model building which in turn assisted in the creation of renders and walkthroughs of the two proposals. An online presentation had been created which may be viewed here.
